RRC Group D – 2019 Exam Syllabus

RRC Group D – exam has multiple stages which begins with the online registration. The stages are

Exam Pattern of RRB Group D Exam:

RRB Group D is an online exam for which the tentative dates, as per the official notification is between September and October of 2019.Call letters for the examination will be available on line at candidate’s registered logins and the candidates need to download the same for the online examination.

The questions will be asked from Mathematics, General Science, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and Current Affairs. All the questions from above subjects will be Multiple Choice Questions (Objective Type). Calculators will not be allowed in exam. There shall be a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for the wrong answers.

The exam pattern of the computer based test [CBT] of RRB Group D 2019 Exam pattern is as below.

Syllabus of RRB Group D 2019 online Exam:

Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.

General Intelligence and reasoning:

Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations,

Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, and Venndiagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency,

Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning,

Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

General Science

The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).

General Awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.

* It may be noted that the topics listed above are illustrative and not necessarily exhaustive .


The physical efficiency test is for the candidates in the Merit List of CBT. Its mandatory to clear the physical efficiency test and male/female candidates have specific tests as below.

Male candidates Female candidates
Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down ; and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one Chance.Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one Chance.

Note: The Persons with Benchmark Disabilities(PwBD) as specified in Para 11.0 are exempted from appearing for PET. However, after qualifying in the CBT, such candidates will have to pass the medical examination prescribed for PwBD.

* If the examination is conducted in multiple sessions, normalization of marks will be applied to shortlist the candidates.
